Dennis Yoder (and son)

(Copy by Dennis Yoder)

Member of Valley Broadcast Legends, Dennis Yoder has been in engineering and teaching for 47 years, in Sacramento since 1970. He retired (?) in 2004 from KXTV News10, where he still currently works as a part-time on call employee for vacations and sickness.

His son, Joe Yoder, following in his father’s footsteps, currently works as a Crew Chief at Channel 3, has been in television engineering for 32 years. Joe began working as an intern at Channel 6 in 1978, then 13 years at Channel 40. He has been with KCRA 16 years.

Paths have crossed over the years and many have worked with both father and son.

Father/son, mother/son, brother/sister … can anyone top these total 79 working years in the industry with immediate relatives?

Joe married Julie (Green) Yoder in 1986. A graduate of CSUS with a degree in communications, she worked at Channels 40, 13 and then eight years at News10. She is a stay-at-home mother and home schools their 14-year-old autistic son.
